Folio 128: Francis Parry to Secretary Coventry. Some satisfaction has now been received to his previous memorials protesting against the raising of the valuation of goods in the Custom House, etc. (ff.27, 29). Reiterates that it would be easier to obtain redress and avoid future complaints if the English merchants' privileges were more clearly expressed and published in Portuguese. Abuse of English `flags of convenience' continues. Asks for three or four months' leave in England next spring, to attend to his private affairs.
Date and place: 1675 Nov 23/Dec 3 Lisbon.
