Folio 143: Consul Maynard to Lord Arlington. Activities of Dutch privateers on the coast, who get aid and comfort from the Spaniards. Asks for some English warships to protect the seaborne trade, which is at its peak in September and October. A Councillor of State tells him Portugal will henceforth follow Charles II's foreign policy.
Date and place: 1672 Sept 9/19 Lisbon.
