Description

Folio 132: Francis Parry to Lord Arlington. Has received a personal visit from the Secretary of State, who tells him that full powers are being sent to Dom Francisco de Mello to negotiate terms on which Portugal might enter the war against the Dutch as also a new commercial treaty. Portuguese believe Holland to be on verge of complete collapse.

Date and place: 1672 Aug 6/16 Lisbon.
