Folio 123: Francis Parry to Lord Arlington. Instructions have been sent to Dom Francisco de Mello with powers to treat for Portugal joining in the war against the Dutch. Sends this in cipher by the Portuguese express. Ferreira Rebello is going to Amsterdam as a representative of the Brazil Company, but has no powers to meddle in any matters of state.
Date and place: 1672 July 29/Aug3 Lisbon.
