Pope's more favourable attitude to Portugal; consideration whether Prince-Regent will take the title of King. Forwards a sermon ofAntonio Vieira S.J. [wanting]. Affair of the Spanish passengers and goods taken from the John of London by Algerians (ff.175, 177, 179). French now reported anxious to enlist only 500 Portuguese troops and not 6,000 as previously reported (f.169).
