Folio 146: Consul Maynard to Lord Arlington. Terms of Franco-Portuguese treaty. Disputes with Castelmelhor over Dutch and French ships taken by English warships in Portuguese territorial waters. Apologies for not having returned home as ordered, but is unavoidably delayed by his lawsuit. Castelmelhor's continued annoyance over prizes taken by English warships, and Maynard's list of counter-claims of English ships or goods made prize.
Date and place: 1667 Apr 11/22 HMS Defiance Cascais road.
