Folio 137. The writ office of the circle of Upper Rhine in the name of Francis Louis, bishop of Worms and of Breslaw, and John William, elector palatine, to the lordship of Burg Friedberg [near Homburg, Hessen] including eleven villages under its jurisdiction, rejecting its claim to exemption from furnishing contingents based upon its commitments to the knighthood of the Middle Rhine as well as ancient imperial concessions and resolutions last confirmed by the diet of Frankfurt in 1633; accusing them of attempting to evade their obligations under the repartition and pointing out that their apportionment was already reduced to half of what they ought to provide under the imperial 'matrikel'.
