Folios 50-50A. Proportionate (contingent) levy as in f.47 (in an English hand, with English headings), figures for troops, horse and foot, given 'in simplo', 'in duplo' and 'in triplo', showing totals of 19,881 ('in simplo'), 39,762 ('in duplo') and 59,643 ('in triplo'), but the contingents 'in triplo' for the electoral circle of Lower Rhine and for the circle of Upper Rhine, 9,924 and 10,032 respectively, are marginally annotated by Stepney 'NB 7000' (see below); followed (facing) by table showing the contingents which the six 'upper' circles were inducing the other four circles, Upper Saxony, Burgundy, Austria and Lower Saxony, to furnish, bringing the totals of the ten circles to 59,993 ('in simplo'), 79,982 ('in duplo') and 119,979 ('in triplo'). Annotated by Stepney at foot of (second) table: 'NB. the two circles of ye Rhine, by reason of what they have suffred by devastation, contributions, marches and quarters, are by an after-act of ye Association dispensd from furnishing their full quota (viz: The electoral circle 9,921 and the Lower [sic - Should be 'upper'] circle 10,032) & no more is required of them during this warr than 7,000 men from each circle whereof 1/3 to be Horse'.
