Folio 145. From Schweinfurt. Thanks him for letter of Mar 30 (N.S.). Dispatches. - 'Phillis [i.e. countess Rochlitz, the Elector's mistress] being in the countrey with Him [the Elector]', 'the Great man K [Knoch] [Hans Ernest Knoch, Saxon privy councillor and minister] is now more in favour then ever...' Colt requests Stepney 'to be free with him [Colt] about what you writt concerning his commission to compliment in the K [King]'s name the new Elector, for that he suspects the Great man with you [?Grote] is in the case'. - Alarm over Clary's non-arrival - 'the march is stop'd'. Expresses satisfaction about the rise in Stepney's allowance: 'You will now make a better figure indeed then him you have mentioned to Sir William who is now here; as also exceed by much Sr P [Paul] R [Rycaut] at Hamburg'.
