Folio 91. From Warre. The warrant for increase of Stepney's allowance has been signed, but the date on which the increase will become effective is still unsettled. The Commons have debated affairs in Ireland and voted that there have been great abuses in that kingdom and appointed a committee to draw up an address to the King. The debate was caused by some members of the Irish parliament who had 'set up there a new pretension altering the methods always practiced of passing money bills in that kingdom which my Lord lieutenant would not admit but rather prorogued the parliament which incensed these gentlemen who thereupon have complained of such matters as could not be avoided amidst those disorders which have of late afflicted that kingdom'.
