Folio 85. From Blathwayt. Main contents similar to ff. 82 and 83, with repeated reference to a possible 'act of bounty' by the King towards Savoy 'upon a very urgent occasion'. Adds (apparently in reply to part of Stepney's dispatch) that count [Ferdinand Bonaventura] Harrach [master of the imperial household and member of the council of conference] is 'extremely mistaken to think the army in Flanders embarassée de son propre poids since it wants only numbers to be more successfull which it could not fail of being if it would be divided into two bodies as the French forces usually are'; and the 'minister of Hanover [at Vienna, Otto Grote] is no less disingenious to say his master maintains 6,000 men in Flanders with a small ajuto when the subsidy of 3,000 crowns a month and their whole bread and forage supplyed by His Majty. and the States cannot but almost defray the whole charge of that body. But this is chiefly for your own information ...'.
