Folio 176. To Görtz. Compliments him on his appointment as envoy to Vienna. Boineburg has seen the elector. He, Stepney, does not wish to appear in a haste to achieve an agreement, as the elector might thereby be encouraged to raise his demands for subsidies and the release of Schöning. Boineburg has asked if Stepney had instructions to hold out a prospect of paying a larger subsidy than last year, but Stepney firmly assured him that he had not. Asks Görtz to try and persuade the imperial ministers to increase their subsidy contributions to satisfy the elector.
