Folio 165. To Mrs Holmes (see f. 142v, ante). Acknowledges a second letter and expresses his delight at entering into a correspondence about love. Will be 'contented with as much or as little familiarity as you shall be pleas'd to grant'. On Matthew Prior he observes: 'That Prior is in love is no wonder; he had always a tender heart equally devided between his mistriss & his muse; and I think wee ought both to thank you for the good employment you have found out for us when our secretarying is at an end...'.
