Folio 150. Vernon to Stepney. Acknowledges letters of Aug 26/Sept 5 and Aug 29/Sept 8. Commends him warmly on efficient conduct of his business and particularly on his memorial on behalf of the oppressed baron Munster (see Lists SP 80/17, f. 330 and 105/59, f.120v). Encloses Montague's letter (see f.149v, ante) and congratulates him on his advancement, though real promotion may come somewhat later.
