Folio 148. To Vernon. Covering transmission of copies of his correspondence with Blathwayt arising from the latter's instructions about his mission to the elector of Saxony. Asks that they also be presented to Montague, 'so that the triumvirat of my patrons may conclude among themselves what they had best to make of me'. Requests him to remind the secretary of state [Trenchard] of the necessity of a speedy remittance of the 50,000 rixdollars subsidies [to Saxony] 'without which I shall not be very welcome here at my first coming'.
