Folio 135v. To Paget. Refers to his letter of Mar 17/27 (see f.123v, ante) and lists their correspondence. Fears that a number of his, Stepney's, letters via Venice may have been intercepted by the French or have otherwise 'miscarried'. - Mentions the foundering of the English Straits fleet, commanded by [admiral] Sir Francis Wheeler [in a hurricane, off Malaga, Feb 19]. - For the last ten days his business at Dresden has shown a 'fairer prospect'. Hopes to bring it to a 'happy conclusion within a month'. Is uncertain whether he will return to Vienna or not. - A private letter he has seen seems to suggest that Lexington may be named for the Vienna post. - Appends a list of dispatches he has received from Paget 1693-94.
