Folio 45v. To Blathwayt. Lt-gen Neidschütz has returned from the army, his wife's fate is as yet undecided. Boineburg has left for Vienna. The elector had given him a valuable diamond ring as a parting gift. Takes it that Bruynincx has sent recipient copies of Colyer's recent letters to Kinsky representing the congress at Stryj as a banter. Will not revert to the subject, but thinks that Lexington will not be pleased to have been 'hurried so hastily out of England upon so light grounds'. Count Königsmarck has not been found. Fears that the elector of Saxony, 'upon the alarm of his being missing, dispatch'd Mr [Johann] Bannier [?Banèr], (a Swede likewise who is lately come into service here as adjutant) for Hannover to prevent the blow if it was not already given'. [On Banér's mission see Repertorium I, 450 and Schnath, loc.cit., II, 175f]. Encloses extract of a letter he has had from Egar, who was with Poley at Ratisbon and is now at Shrewbury's office, in reply to queries he put to him two years ago, when it was first proposed that he, Stepney, should go there [not copied here].
