Description

Folio 33. To Blathwayt. Acknowledges letters of June 18/28 and July 2 [?s.n.], the former via Maastricht, the latter via Brussels and Bremen. Comments on the 'miscarriage' at Brest and the taking of a Dutch convoy by [admiral Jean] Bart [off Texel]. At Dresden, [Christian August von] Haxthausen, privy councillor, was appointed grand chamberlain and Pflugk has been made grand maître to the new electoress. Friesen has at last left [for Flanders]. The solemn funeral of the late elector will take place today.
