Folio 31. To Blathwayt. Has given Friesen, who is leaving for Flanders to-morrow, a copy of his 'deduction' [i.e. his 'Summary' account to Shrewsbury of June 8/18, see List SP 105/83, ff.72-80]. Schöning's party is displeased with the elector's kindness to Friesen. Friesen will present some good horses to the King in the elector's name. Reports gossip about [Christian August] Haxthausen who has been unwell for some time: some people say he was poisoned by the late countess's [Rochlitz] family for spreading rumours about some indiscretions of the late elector's mistress. Minor changes in the corps of court officers, but the privy councillors remain the same. Baron [Anton Wulff] Haxthausen, '(the Dane)', has had a conference with the ministers 'wherein I suppose he recommended his master's mediation'. Has given Friesen the papers relating to Ham's treaty for two cavalry regiments for deployment by the Dutch. Encloses a list of them [not copied here].
