The Export Credits Guarantee Department had been required to produce audited accounts from 1929, though none appear to have survived for the period before 1973-1974. Between 1973-1974 and 1986-1987, they were known as Trading Accounts and this was the only information that was contained. In 1987-1988 the title was changed to 'Annual Report', and from that time onwards, the publication has contained details of all the department's activities in addition to the trading results and accounts.
