This series contains selected policy files from the main departmental file series, mostly from the Secretariat (later the Chief Executive's Department) of the Export and Credit Guarantee Department.
Selected files cover the early history of the department and its subsequent re-organisation, legislation affecting its functions, and the Export and Credits Guarantee Department's policy towards the Balkan countries at the outbreak of the Second World War. The series also contains some examples of work carried out by the department; and minutes and papers of meetings of major internal committees and the Export Guarantee Committee.
