Description (What the record is about)
-
Fiats for, and memoranda of, the issue of writs.
The entries are much more numerous than the earlier memoranda on the files of bills and writs (E 5), but they are nevertheless not a complete record of writs issued. On the other hand, the rolls record many writs not on the writ files, which were presumably either not issued, or not returned, or not filed. The rolls do not record the return of the writ.
