Folio 121: Wich to Carteret. Compliments to Czarina on anniversary of her accession. Privy Councillor Munnich brother of Field Marshal Munnich in exile, made Lord High Steward. This gives him free and private access to the Czarina and as a true German, his sympathies lie with the French, who may use him to sway the Czarina in their direction. Vice-Chancellor intends to invite me to conference tomorrow. Dated Moscow, 25 Nov 1742.
