Folio 24: Wich to Carteret. Further congratulations on signing of Peace at Breslau on 11 June. In King of Prussia's letter to Mardefeld nothing was said of King of Denmark or the House of Wolfenbuttel being included by name in the treaty. The first will not be disagreeable to the Czarina, but the second will startle her and make it more difficult to induce her to come into our plans, therefore it would be preferable to omit naming that house when we invite her to accede to that treaty. Saxon ministers have had no time from their court since the conclusion of that Peace, not I from Lord Hyndford or Villiers. Private letters from Breslau said de Saul on way to Vienna with a commission regarding an accommodation between Polish and Hungarian majesties, that Duke of Weissenfels has agreed with Prince Charles of Lorraine to suspend hostilities, and that Saxon troops were preparing to evacuate Bohemia. Have plans afoot to prevail upon Czarina not to enter any agreement with France or answer the proposals of marriage for Duke of Holstein. Reports from Finland that Russian army in pursuit of the Swedes, and Russia hardly likely to conclude peace on the foot of treaty of Nydtadt.
