Folio 191: Wich to Carteret. General Botta has new credentials from Queen of Hungary with title of Empress to the Czarina, very agreeable to this court, and should have good effect between the two courts. As Czarina is uncertain it is to be hoped that his argument as his audience will convince her that her real interest lie in joining with those powers who have the preservation of the House of Austria at heart. Rumours of conspiracies discovered against Czarine but no confirmation available. Dated Moscow, 17 June 1742.
