Folio 83: Wich to Carteret. Congratulations on new post. My journey to Russia not so urgent as Czarina is en route to Moscow and not expected in St Petersburg before June. Peace with Sweden some think is concluded. I hope they are mistaken and that negotiation initiated by France will prove abortive. Finch here and has passed on some useful information. Czarina has formed a court for Duke of Holstein. Probably will declare him her successor after her coronation. Please note what I wrote from Hamburg to Harrington about Bestuzev. Dated Danzig, 12 March 1742.
