Folio 65: Finch to Harrington. Despite promises of immediate peace with Sweden, preparations here appear strongly to support vigorous campaign next summer. Proposal for 75,000 men in Finland including cossacks and Kalmuks. Preparations made for packing up Duke's wardrobe perhaps sign that the Traveller's journey can be continued. Unbelievable that they can go out of Russia before peace with Sweden concluded; the two children actually had smallpox. Dated St Petersburg, 2 Feb 1742.
