Folio 57: Finch to Harrington. Great Chancellor informed that my letters of Revocation had arrived and later he sent a message that my audience of leave would be on 3 Feb. Compliment material sent in French. I shall speak English, he will answer in Russian. At mention to Bestuzev of recent treaty he suggested some necessary alteration and actual help stipulated instead of the provisional equivalent. Said no alteration admissible except that £100,000 should be erased by me from last separate article, and a new one be submitted by me not mentioning it. Chevalier Crepi here with dispatches from both Stockholm and Paris. Dated St Petersburg, 30 Jan 1742.
