Description

Folio 26: Finch to Harrington. Count Osterman, when visited to thank him for his efforts on the treaty, made 4 points: first, the secret article should remain inviolable; second, now the accession of States General was to be effected and what orders to be given toCount Golovkin; third, he asked if he might tell Denmark via Bachoff that such a treaty was concluded and do the same with Botta and Lynar; lastly, he wished to acquaint France either through de la Chetardie or Prince Cantemir that a defensive alliance was concluded with HM and Russia. I gave no objections.
