Folio 30: Finch to Harrington. Field Marshal Lacy arrived on 3 September and was greeted by the Regent who hoped that he would live until young Czar would be of age to thank him himself for his glorious action. Fortress of Wilmanstrand razed and surrounding countyand pass ruined. Now impracticable for the Swedes Assumed next action. Hearing that Bestuzev set out on 6 August, Lagerflycht left this morning via Riga and Konigsberg. De la Chetardie says Swedes will now be anxious to repair their loss and having received money from other powers will be able to do so. Prisoners expected daily. Count Osterman refuses my audiences of leave until my courier returns. Dated St Petersburg, 5 Sept 1741.
