Folio 95: Finch to Harrington. Prince of Brunswick Wolfenbuttel elected Duke of Courland at Mitau. King of Poland informed at Dresden and asked for confirmation of Republic of Poland. Keyserling a relation of Wolfenbuttel minister gives account of Dieskau's protests. Prince Generalissimo sent to Mitau to congratulate his brother. Count Osterman says if English squadron not available, war would be longer but never dangerous to Russia. He would in no circumstances advise the Great Duchess to accept the money and he would be a traitor if he did. Turkish ambassador has left Novgorod by water, has reached Slusselburg, en route for here.
