Folio 187: Finch to Harrington. Field Marshal Munnich's health improving steadily. Commerce opened up between Russia and Finland. Leave given to transport corn from Vyborg into Swedish territories; also from Riga in summer. English and Dutch Factories presented to Princess Anne and prince of Brunswick, most graciously received. Surmising on death of young Czar and fall of new prime minister. He and Osterman for some time mortal enemies, thought inreconcilable. But if Osterman were dropped by Munnich, he will lose the superior knowledge of business of Osterman and his want of experience will ruin him. He says duchess should await offers from all courts and favour the most advantageous. Dated St Petersburg 25 Nov 1740.
