Folio 114: Finch to Harrington. 18 October memorable day, on which downfall of regency of duke of Courland began. Between 3 and 4 in the morning of 9 Oct. entire Biron family arrested and later sen under guard to castle of Slusselberg in the Ladoga Lake. General Biron and Bestuzev sent to Ivangorod opposite Nawa. Orders to seize the other brother, General Biron, at Moscow and at Riga General Bismar who married duchess of Courland's sister. List of new appointments: Field Marshal Munnich made Prime Minister; Count Osterman, still in charge of foreign affairs, Lord High Admiral; Prince Cerkasski Great Chancellor; Count Golovkin brother of the ambassador, Vice Chancellor. Honours distributed. Dated St Petersburg 11 Nov 1740.
