Folio 143: Harrington to Rondeau. Deposition of Grand Vizir confirmed by Fawkener, with additional information that new Turkish minister at Porte, strongly desiring peace, had made events calmer and wishes for a swift reconciliation. Inform Russian ministers that HM desires their utmost endeavours to conclude this dangerous and destructive war. New project of defensive alliance now settled and being forwarded. Dated Whitehall, 22 May 1739.
