Folio 139: Rondeau to Harrington. News from Kiev that the Grand Vizir is deposed and exiled to Chio. Persian ambassador died en route for Constantinople, secretly poisoned on orders of Grand Vizir. By his papers it was shown that he would declare war on the Porte if his proposals were not accepted. On this discovery Grand Seigneur sent for Kizlar Aga, no friend to Grand Vizir, and suggested they had enough enemies without disobliging the Persians, and asked why treaty not concluded with France. Kizlar Aga said he was not at fault and they decided to depose the Grand Vizir. Bashaw of Vidin to succeed him. Dated StPetersburg, 24 Apr 1739.
