Folio 97: Rondeau to Harrington. Translation of remarks on defensive alliance made by Czarina's Privy Council enclosed. Reasons conjectured by me on each article. Also Count Osterman says it is not logical that Russia should assist us if we are attacked by Spain or Portugal or in the Indies, as we are not willing to assist her against the tartars, Turks and Persians. Wedding arrangements for princess of Mecklenburg occupy Osterman and also the operations for the coming campaign. Dated StPetersburg, 10 Apr 1739.
