Folio 292: Harrington to Rondeau. Take care not to use expressions in despatches calculated to upset opposite parties. Sir Everard Fawkener given orders to collaborate with ministers of France and States General for inducing the Turks to renew the Congress. In reference to Okzakow (f.284) HM has further information that Vienna actually tried to dissuade Russia from employing the maritime powers. Try to discover more of this. Do not give the impression HM is dissatisfied with the Imperial court or would create misunderstanding between Emperor and Czarina. Dated Whitehall, 6 Jan 1737/8.
