Folio 290: Rondeau to Harrington. Russia progressively more displeased with Vienna. Hochholzer ordered to press the Czarina again to accept mediation of the French king, the only prince capable of ending the war. Czarina will not trust her interests to the French but only to HM and the States General. It was then insinuated that the French might acquire a treaty of commerce, but it was pointed out that only England and Holland had Commerce of value to Russia. Dated St Petersburg 10 Dec 1737.
