Folio 284: Rondeau to Harrington. Copy of letter sent to Sir Everard Fawkener enclosed as altered by Count Osterman and not translated so that it might express exactly the thoughts of this court. He said that if the Turk's suspected that Swart and Rondeau had been asked to write on behalf of Russia, the Porte would take advantage of it. Duke of Courland advises HM that Czarina will give up Okzakow to the Porte although the world must think Russia can keep it. Avoid informing Vienna. News of queen's indisposition received. Count Osterman insisted on bearing expenses of Bell and Russian interpreter. Dated St Petersburg 6 Dec 1737.
