Folio 106: Forbes and Rondeau to Harrington. Regarding f.24, Imperial and Saxon ministers here have similar instructions from their courts. All easier concerning war with Turks. Numerous troops in Poland and those near here observing France make sufficient assembly impracticable. If Turks suspect war, they will impose a peace with the Persians. Regarding f.1, our intelligences show that the 3 points could only be agreed upon by the king of Prussia's wish for the duchy of Courland for one of his younger sons and his seizing of Elbing as his troops enter Poland on king Augustus's side. However, nothing admitted of this here. Partizans of Prussia sorry they engaged Mardefeld to go on this unproductive journey. Dated St Petersburg 16 Mar 1734.
