Description

Folio 79: Rondeau to Harrington. Hochholzer, the Austrian Minister glad Rondeau has orders to act in concert with him. This Court will take no steps regarding Poland without informing His Majesty. King of Denmark will act in concert with Czarina and Emperor regarding Poland. Von Brackel sent from Copenhagen to Kiel to notify the Duke of Holstein about the treaty concluded between Emperor, Czarina and King of Denmark. Duke told also that Russia had procured for him, by that treaty, great advantages, and tried to persuade him to accept the equivalent for Schleswig offered by the Danes. Tachmach Culicam has beaten Turks in Persia; besieging Babylon with 100,000 men Golovin (in Sweden) made President of the Admiralty and Baron Safirov President of College of Commerce. Prince Scerbatov (in Spain) made Vice-President to College of Commerce. Encloses list of troops ordered by Czarina to be in readiness to march on Poland, if a candidate not agreeable to her is elected as King. Dated St Petersburg 31 Mar 1733.
