Folio 19: Ward to Townshend. News of death and succession. Prince Vasili Lukish Dolgorukov from the High Council, Prince Michael Michaelovitch Golicyn, president of the Senate, and, from the army, Major General Leventoff, have gone to Mitau near Riga about 800 miles from here to fetch duchess. P.S. The French consul says not necessary to acquire a new commission, his first and only one having served 3 reigns. Dated Moscow, 22 Jan 1729.
