Folio 81: Rondeau to [Townshend]. Prince Golicyn to be Lord High Admiral and Governor here, as Prince Dolgorvkov faction will not allow his desired admission to the High Council in Moscow. Baron Aschenbach, envoy from the duke of Wolfenbuttel, assured Ward the Russians would gladly settle understanding with court of Great Britain. This I will judge on arrival in Moscow for which we leave next week, but I still desire letter of recommendation, preferably to Westphal, the Danish minister, the most influential for my needs. Dated St Petersburg, 28 Feb 1729.
