Folio 228: Jefferyes to Craggs. Reports of offensives; both effective and failed, by General Lacy and Admiral Apraxin. A French lieutenant colonel, here after visiting the Czar, is supposed to be called de Bavaillon, a native of Switzerland, and employed as a spy in the last 3 or 4 years. Now en route to Holland to marquis Baretti Landi. The Czar granted free trade with Sweden, yet an English ship called Prosperity of Hull, in ballast for Stockholm was seized by Russian cruisers and bought here yesterday. The sailors all pressed on board the Czar's ships; only the Master and boy were left to take care of the vessel. Waiting to hear the Czar's reply to the Danish protest against a separate peace with Sweden. Dated Revel, 6 Aug 1719.
