Folio 214: Jefferyes to Stanhope. Will carry out orders relating to British ships as best I can. Everyone is discussing the Czar's descent on Sweden, but the choice of place is difficult to decide from the wide range of possibilities. Denmark appears to be in concert with him and it is thought Sweden would not be able to win against both. Six gentlemen with 6 secretaries, well versed in laws and constitutions of this country, are to be sent to Finland to introduce the civil government as established here. No one knows the Czar's intentions unless he means to make the Swedes jealous. Dated Revel, 9 July 1719.
