Folio 98: MacKenzie to Townshend. The Czarevitch, Heredity Prince of all the Russians, arrived here last Tuesday. Wolchonstoy and Korsiakoff are still in prison. The first has been racked again, the wife and seven children of the other have begged the Czarina to intervene for his life. It is doubted the Czar will punish any with death, as some have been pardoned, but the scaffold is still erected. Edict for General Trade signed, as formerly at Archangel, but not published as the Czar is waiting for information from his own merchants there. Dated St Petersburg 24 Dec 1714.
