Folio 83: MacKenzie to Townshend. Last Tuesday the Czar conferred on Major General Cernysev the position of first commissioner of the Admiralty in place of Kyken who is banished to end his days at Kazan in the company of Zinavin - erstwhile Intendant of Bricks. Monday will be known the sentences on Prince Walchonstoy and Korsiakoff. The Czar is said to want to give the post of vice-governor of St Petersburg to de Wolcoff, Brigadier of First Regiment of Guards which is 3,000 strong. The Czar attended early at Senate to assist in choice of punishment for those under arrest and already guilty. Czar rumoured to be going to review fleet at Kronslot next Monday and to inspect progress of houses being built on Island of Rizzari, to which 1 in 40 peasants from Province are to be sent. Czar cancelled march of Troops at Declaration of King of Prussia in favour of Poland, received. Vice Chancellor Baron Safirov informed of Czar's intention to give him Order of St. Andrew, possibly at Christmas or New Years Day. Dated St Petersburg, 10 Dec 1714.
