Folio 81: MacKenzie to Townsend. Called on Count Golovkin to know whether any news of letter of Notification. Told that Czar will come back to the letter very soon, congratulating HM on his auspicious entry and other prosperities. I am informed that the Czar hasvowed very graciously to Prince Menshikoff that if he would return to the former fidelity of Alexander, the Czar would as generously as old Peter, and has further put the distinction on him of an undefined quota - while others have their refunds chalked out. By this means the Czar should recoup millions. King of Poland more disliked than ever here, and they claim to have made fresh discoveries of his endeavours towards a Separate Peace. Dated St Petersburg, 10 Dec 1714.
