Folio 73: Extracts from letters from MacKenzie. Walchonstoy and Korsikov are again arrested - the first has been tortured for the second time. A scaffold has been erected for a few days, but one doubts that the Czar will punish anyone with death because he has just pardoned several others, with comparable corrupt behaviour. Am assured that the Czar has signed the Edict to establish commerce at Archangel. Naryskin has orders from the Czar to describe to HM the reasons carried to the Czar, in order to arrest Collins, an Englishman, at St Petersburg. Three battalions of the first regiment of guards were ordered to march to Novogrod where they will pass the winter, and in Spring they will join the Corps de Troupers at Riga. Reports of reasons for detention of Collins. MacKenzie tries for his release. MacKenzie has spoken to Safirov about a house. French.
