Folio 62: MacKenzie to Townshend. On 24th Prince Menshikoffdedicated the Church he had just had finished to St. Michael the Archangel. The next day the Czar, his Empress and his sister Princess Anatolia took part in service on the occasion of the Festival of Alexander, the patron saint of the Prince after whom he is named. Festivities were cut short so as to reach the Court Island, as the river was becoming choked with thick drift-ice. All present were invited to attend assembly on the 24th for Nameday of the Empress. Everything very grand in diversions and entertainments. Yesternight we heard vice-governor Korzikov and one of the Inspectors of the Czar's buildings, Zynavin, were taken into custody. The Czar has received a letter from Admiral Apraxin on his arrival at Vyborg. Dated St Petersburg, 26 Nov 1714.
